ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS WORKING IN ENTERPRISES

Finnish government supports foundations and the grantees with some tax relief if the grant is used to promote Finnish science at large, if the results are of general scientific significance, and if the results will be made publicly available.

The Foundation does not support research and development that serves directly the business of any company. Typically applicants working in enterprises are granted a scholarship if they agree to take an unpaid leave of absence because of their doctoral studies. Close cooperation with a university is an advantage.

Applicants working in enterprises are required a commitment of their superior on the necessary arrangements, like the leave of absence.
